Tyson Foods team members in Amarillo, Texas, were recognized for their continued commitment to feeding the nation with a special donation from Wendy’s, one of our foodservice customers and valued partners.

Wendy’s restaurant franchise organization Cotti Foods, which owns five restaurants in the Amarillo area, gave every team member at our plant (more than 4,000 employees) four courtesy cards to redeem a combo meal or entrée salad – a donation valued at more than $150,000.

Wendy’s noted in a blog, “The Cotti Foods team felt it was imperative do something big for these employees who mean so much to the Wendy’s family.”

As part of the effort, leaders from Wendy’s and Cotti Foods visited our plant to personally thank our team members. Isaac Romero, Tyson Human Resources Manager in Amarillo, said it was a powerful moment for employees to be recognized for their dedication every day.

“We are truly thankful for the appreciation the Wendy’s team have shown,” he said. “This donation was encouraging and uplifting to everyone. It reminds us just how important our commitment to feeding America really is.”
